Telemetry

Telemetry is the science and technology of measuring things remotely that allows information to be obtained by a wire, radio, satellite, data recorder or other device such as a tag.

Telemetry is the use of radio waves for transmitting information from a distant instrument to a device that indicates or records measurements.

Researchers use telemetry tags to study animal behavior, functions, and their environment.

Councils use telemetry to manage and monitor water pump stations.

Industrial plants or mines use telemetry for monitoring conditions in and

around the mine or plant.

Some cattle stations have been know to use telemetry to control and manage the gates throughout the property.

The purpose of a telemetry system is to reliably and transparently convey measure ment information from a remotely located data-generating source to users located in space or on Earth.
